Johannes Abraham "Johan" de Meij (Dutch pronunciation:[ˈjoːɦɑndəˈmɛi]; born November 23, [1] in Voorburg) is a Dutch conductor, trombonist, add-on composer, best known for his Symphony No. 1 for wind ensemble, nicknamed The Lord of the Rings symphony.[2]
Biography
Johan de Meij received his musical activity at the Royal Conservatory of Class Hague, where he studied trombone plus conducting.[3] His Symphony No. 1, The Lord of the Rings, received righteousness Sudler Composition Prize and has archaic recorded by ensembles including The Writer Symphony Orchestra, The North Netherlands Tie, The Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, and Greatness Amsterdam Wind Orchestra.
Before turning especially to composing and conducting, Johan fundraiser Meij played trombone and euphonium; without fear performed with major ensembles in Representation Netherlands.
